about Rupert in SiberiansUSA.com:
“Rupert, as do all of the Karnovanda bred dogs, traces his ancestry back to the 1964 breeding of Ch Monadnock’s Pando to Ch Eskl’s Nonie, UD. This litter produced Ch Baron of Karnovanda, CD and Ch Karnovanda’s Zenda, CD. As the years went by and a breeding program developed, I always tried to incorporate the qualities of a good outcross dog (when one was available) and use daughters from these breedings back with Karnovanda males. I had obtained a dog, Wildestar’s Eagle Dancer (brother to Ch Wildestar’s Cat Ballou) and my plan was to collect some daughters of this dog and eventually breed them. The three females that had the qualities I was looking for are Karnovanda’s Sybelle, Karnovanda’s Inca Dove, and Ch. Karnovanda’s Dove Bar (deceased). Sybelle produced Ch. Karnovanda’s Olanya (Rupert’s dam) and Olanya was bred to Ch. Karnovanda’s Padington Bear (Rupert’s sire). Padington Bear, a son of Ch. Karnovanda’s Dream Bear and Ch. Karnovanda’s Primrose Path, was one of those dogs that some day some time was going to produce something spectacular if the correct female came along. Imagine my delight when Olanya had 7 puppies, five black and white and two RED and white. It was a beautiful litter. I kept 2 boys, Ch. Karnovanda’s Rupert Bear and Ch. Karnovanda’s Paddington Bear ,Jr., and two black and white females. I had the opportunity to co-own Junior with Marc Ralsky and Correen Pacht and kept Rupert here. The rest is history. Rupert is one of those dogs who was born to be a special. He has attitude, movement, style, beauty, and an excellent rapport with Suzie Willis, his handler.”
